In order to qualify for the Super Bowl, a team must win its respective conference. The league is divided into the AFC and the NFC, which 16 teams competing in each.

There are eight divisions within the league, each made up for four NFL teams: AFC East, AFC North, AFC South, AFC West, NFC East, NFC North, NFC South, and NFC West. The team with the best record within each division gets an automatic bid to the playoffs.

At the end of each NFL season, the league awards that year's top players. These include MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
