The NHL's final weekend of the season is here. It is a long holiday weekend, at that. April 14th will be here before anyone knows it.

The weekend features a simple schedule, with a few teams playing three games in four nights (all those Thursday games).

Schedule Breakdown

Let us do this by the number of games each day.

  • Saturday – 16
  • Sunday – 2
  • Monday – 10

Saturday features every single team playing and includes an ABC tripleheader. Easter Sunday brings us a TNT doubleheader and a solid Easter Monday slate.

Who plays back-to-back this long weekend? Here are those teams below.

  • Boston (Saturday, Sunday)
  • Colorado (Saturday, Sunday)
  • Philadelphia (Saturday, Sunday)
  • Anaheim (Saturday, Sunday)

The Sunday games start at 6:00 pm ET, with a TNT doubleheader headlining Bruins-Flyers and Avalanche-Ducks.

On Friday, They Rest, On Saturday They Play

Good Friday is a night off. There are no games on the schedule for the only time other than the All-Star Break. Hey, the rest is appreciated this time of year.

An ABC Tripleheader

ABC gives us two games on Saturday afternoon and one more at night. as the Detroit Red Wings entertain the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburgh is still mired in a three-way battle with Florida and the New York Islanders for the final two spots in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Pittsburgh is bleeding goals at the wrong time and allowed seven goals in a previous matchup on March 28. Can the Penguins bounce back?

The middle ABC game features a Western Conference battle between the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights. While Vegas tries to sew up the top seed in the West, Dallas is battling Colorado and Minnesota for the Central Division crown. Vegas keeps finding ways to win while the Dallas top-six buoys their offensive attack. Jake Oettinger is the anchor in goal. Expect a fiery game deep in the heart of Texas.

Player props figure to be fun options in the two games above, and then there is the field day which is the night game. The New Jersey Devils ship up to Boston to take on the Bruins. Timo Meier, Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and company go against David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Linus Ullmark.

New Jersey is one of the best road teams in the entire NHL. They have struggled a bit away from home lately, but nothing gets the juices fired like a meeting with a history-chasing team like Boston. Now, the Bruins are approaching Montreal’s record of 132 points and a few others. The Over figures are to be set at 6.5 and something to feast on.

TNT And ESPN Try To Know Drama

After the 16-game bonanza on Saturday, teams need rest. The TNT doubleheader resembles more of a break to two bottom-dwelling teams. Colorado and Anaheim could be the game to wager. The back end of a back-to-back expects to see a few more goals. Nathan MacKinnon and Trevor Zegras could be player props to eye on, depending on the numbers.

Then, there is Monday. Minnesota and Chicago are on ESPN, where the Wild have all the pressure. Can they keep up with Dallas and Colorado? It could be a familiar scenario where Minnesota plays a team in that 2-3 matchup.

Monday is an underrated night here. Toronto and Florida could be the Marquis clash on ESPN+/Hulu. Both teams love scoring goals, but lately, Alex Lyon has taken the reins for the Panthers. Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov versus Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares is a game to get fired up for.

Calgary and Nashville could be an elimination game for a young Nashville team which should be a spot to bet on the Flames. However, with the West, there may be better options like the over in Los Angeles and an Adrian Kempe rebound night.

Quick Points To Consider

  • Playoff hockey is approaching. Some unders are out there for the taking.
  • That 16-game Saturday alone is worth an entire weekend of wagering. Study it heavily.
  • Enjoy your Easter Sunday, followed by some Colorado Puckline.
  • Carolina can clinch the division by Monday, but road games in Buffalo and Ottawa may prove interesting. Both teams have pride on the line.
  • Connor McDavid’s goal production is slowing down, but he is chasing 150 points. Can he hit that mark this weekend? The answer was yes five minutes ago.
  • Could the NY Islanders be a team to bet on? They see winnable games versus Washington and Philadelphia. Bo Horvat may snap out of that funk.
  • New York Rangers power-play props are on the watch with games against Columbus and Buffalo.
