NHL Betting Preview: Seattle, New Jersey Aim to Continue Momentum
Gambling.com rolls along with two NHL second-round Game 4s on Tuesday. Yes, New Jersey tries to even their series at home against Carolina while Dallas attempts to rebound after Sunday’s night rout in Seattle.
Here are some newsworthy items to help the bettor out this Tuesday night.
Schedule Breakdown
Simply, here is tonight’s breakdown.
- Carolina Hurricanes at New Jersey Devils - 7:00 pm ET
- Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken - 9:30 pm ET
The schedule keeps things easy. Are there any other wrinkles?
Naturally, The Oilers Are Going To Oil
The one predictable thing about the Edmonton Oilers is their inconsistency. Look at the last round against the Los Angeles Kings. It is as if the Oilers enjoy adversity. Vegas strolled into Alberta and acted like they owned the place. Before anyone knew it, a close game was 5-1. With that, Vegas took control of the series back.
Naturally, Game 1 was a goal-fest followed by alternating 5-1 romps by the road team. That is totally how a playoff series is supposed to go.
ESPN Gets The Puck Again Tuesday Night
Tuesday night features ESPN once again with the two games. Local coverage will only be available for pre and post-game coverage. Up in Canada, Sportsnet, CBC, and TVAS carry the contest.
On Monday night, there was the lottery. The Chicago Blackhawks won the right to select Connor Bedard first in the June 2023 NHL Draft. However, Chicago connecting at +600 was not the news. There was a little hiccup in the coverage where Columbus was leaked to be third and not in the top two.
ESPN did not catch it despite the frenzy set on social media. It was a dropped-ball moment. Let’s see how the network bounces back with its coverage tonight.
Carolina Hurricanes at New Jersey Devils
Sunday finally saw some punch back from the New Jersey Devils as the Devils played the style we saw all season. The Devils must play “Helter Skelter” and hope for the best. It is that simple. When it works, it looks like 1980’s playoff hockey out there.
Watch where the over ends up on Tuesday night. There is some clue that this could move to 6, but it stays at 5.5. Again, this series is all about pace. If Carolina asserts its forecheck, New Jersey is in trouble. If New Jersey pushes the tempo at even strength, the Hurricanes struggle. Last-line change is crucial, but so is a player like Luke Hughes for New Jersey.
The young rookie got thrown into a heck of a situation. However, this is the kind of thing a big brother can help with. Jack Hughes felt more at ease on Sunday, and even Timo Meier scored. Expect quite the tilt tonight with an angry Hurricanes team led by Sebastian Aho.
Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken.
No one will say it on Dallas, but the puck that clocked Miro Heiskanen was strange. There were a few murmurs it appeared intentional. However, the one thing it did was change the complexion of Game 3. Seattle scored on that play and scored four more goals that second period. They went on to a 7-2 win.
Can Dallas bounce back, or will tonight feature more home cooking from Climate Pledge Arena? Now, 13 different players scored at least a point on Sunday night. That is the calling card of Seattle this season. Balance.
Some Wagers To Consider Placing For Game 4
- Jack Hughes first-goal scorer prop bet at +850.
- Seattle on the moneyline is still +115.
- Dallas and Seattle over 5.5 goals, still -115 for now.
- Goal scored in the first nine minutes of the New Jersey game is at -120.
- Jason Robertson tiny flier on 5+ shots at +220.
- Jack Hughes over 1.5 points is +175.
- Matty Beniers anytime goal is +250, and Over 0.5 points is +105.
- What does one know? Chicago did win the draft lottery. Crazy!
Good luck, and once again, thanks for reading! We will carry some more plays on social media as conditions warrant.
