The NHL has only one game tonight, and it is a late one from Vancouver as the Canucks entertain the Los Angeles Kings.

It is almost the weekend. Saturday will be packed, but let’s dig into this potentially engaging tilt.

What Went Wrong With Our Betting Thursday

Toronto came close to winning in regulation against New Jersey but could not finish again. Vitek Vanecek held the Devils in one more time as New Jersey found a way to win early in overtime. That extended the Devils' winning streak to 11.

Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs did get a point but we lost with the regulation pick. Auston Matthews did get us that anytime power-play goal though.

Also, the New York Rangers played a great first 20 minutes but could not beat Martin Jones more than twice. As a result, they lost in overtime and missed out on their chances to win in regulation too. That hurt!

Some things did go right, though.

What Went Right With Our Betting Thursday

American sports bettors had to be happy with the Colorado sneaking that win across the finish line and Pavel Francouz stopping 46 shots. Also, the Filip Forsberg first goal on Thursday for Nashville made up for the fact he did not score on Tuesday.

The Bruins’ Puckline struck gold once again and though we lost out on the Arizona +2.5 version, there were those Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay pucklines to save the night.

Remember to tail us on social media for weekend picks. The goal is to take advantage of the schedule and its quirks.

Los Angeles Kings at Vancouver Canucks

The Los Angeles Kings have had quite an interesting week. Los Angeles lost a wild game to Calgary by a 6-5 score. Then, it clamped down on Edmonton of all teams in a 3-1 win. What is going to happen in Vancouver tonight?

This will be a test for the Kings. Even though Los Angeles is 11-7-1 on the season, the Canucks are still a dangerous team to play against. This is because the Kings have lost seven of their previous eight matchups to Vancouver. Most of these games were close and four straight have gone the Under route.

Now, the problem is how bad Vancouver has played. The Canucks have dropped three of four while their penalty kill remains the worst in the NHL at 63.9% Furthermore, Thatcher Demko has a goals-against-average of over four. Also, Demko possesses just one quality start in 11 games. That 9.1% is the worst percentage, by far, in the NHL.

With J.T. Miller, Bo Horvat, Elias Pettersson, and Quinn Hughes on the roster, times were supposed to be better. The reality is not the case here. Every sign points to Los Angeles winning this game. Yet, when these two teams meet, the opposite seems to almost always happen.

So, the Over is entrenched around -110 for 6.5 goals. This looks like it is going nowhere which means the Under is at the same number. Value is a bit less there, but watch for things like the team Over for Vancouver or maybe one of the Canucks’ top players scoring. Jonathan Quick did win a meeting last year. Vancouver is likely to muster more than 18 shots, however.

A Few Parting Words

Like we said, Saturday’s schedule is crazy! There are a whopping 15 games as the schedule sets up for Thanksgiving next Thursday. Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday will be busy days. Then, there will be that Friday-Saturday combination.

Some Picks And More To Chew On

  • Vancouver to score first at +120
  • Vancouver Moneyline at -105
  • J.T. Miller anytime goal at +175
  • Vancouver to win and Over 5.5 goals at +210

Good luck, and once again, thanks for reading! We will have a few weekend plays on social media as the night draws closer.
