Gold Cup Match Day 2 Analysis

St Kitts & Nevis (+6000) vs. USA (-20000)

Although the U.S. tied with Jamaica, it should knock in a few goals against the worst side at the 2023 Gold Cup.

It’s likely to be a case of how many goals the U.S. can score, as opposed to whether it will win, and we think it scores at least three. The Over-Under for goals is 5.5.

Jesus Ferreira also has eight goals in 19 caps for his country, so we're picking him to get another after racking up 10 MLS goals in 18 games this year, too.

Jamaica (-190) vs. Trinidad & Tobago (+500)

Despite being big underdogs, Jamaica got a well-earned point against the U.S. on Match Day 1 after an early goal from Damion Lowe. It was just a few minutes away from winning the game until Brandon Vazquez's equalizer late on.

Trinidad & Tobago did ease to a victory against St Kitts & Nevis, but it likely falls to a defeat here against an impressive Jamaica team.

Qatar (+165) vs. Honduras (+150)

Easily the toughest game to call on Match Day 2 sees Qatar face off with Honduras.

Both sides lost in very underwhelming performances last week, as Honduras was smashed 4-0 by Mexico, and Qatar was stunned by Haiti against the odds.

It makes us think a tie is the best bet for this one.

Haiti (+850) vs. Mexico (-370)

Although Haiti proved to be a handful by beating Qatar, Mexico itself proved why it is the sports betting favorite to win the Gold Cup by smashing Honduras 4-0.

What’s more, although he didn’t score, Henry Martin is the one to watch after sitting by and allowing four goals to go in. This no doubt adds more fuel to the fire for a man that just scored 27 goals in Liga MX for America.

Martinique (+650) vs. Panama (-300)

Marintique played very well against El Salvador, but despite its glory that day, it also saw Jonathan Rivierez sent off in defense, and he will be a huge miss.

Panama also played very well against Costa Rica by winning 2-1 after a goal from star man, Edgar Barcenas, and another for Jose Fajardo. Panama also had 10 shots on target that day, and it should ease to another win against Martinique.

El Salvador (+240) vs. Costa Rica (+110)

After 2-1 losses each, it's a tough one to call when El Salvador and Costa Rica meet. Both got a goal in the defeats on Match Day 1, but after having 22 shots and 10 on target, El Salvador no doubt performed better than Costa Rica.

Either way, with such a lack of goals throughout the two teams, we expect very little to happen in this one.

Guatemala (+700) vs. Canada (-340)

After a run to the Nations League final, Canada was expected to ease to all three points against Guadeloupe. However, the absence of star players like Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies was clearly felt.

David, Davies and Cyle Larin add together 67 goals for Canada, and with them all on vacation right now, we expect the Canadians to win but with just one or two goals on the board.

Cuba (+200) vs. Guadeloupe (+130)

Guadeloupe shocked us all with a great display against Canada that earned it a point on Match Day 1 against the odds.

Thierry Ambrose was the hero that day with the opening goal and with Cuba losing 1-0 to Guatemala, Guadeloupe should get another victory in this one.
