The CONCACAF Gold Cup is here this weekend as the USMNT looks to defend its title and win its second trophy of the season after a victorious Nations League campaign.

The U.S. eased to a win over Canada in the final last weekend and it is now second to only Mexico in the outright odds list to win the Gold Cup.

Here’s our soccer betting guide for the first day of matches.

USA vs. Jamaica (Saturday)

After a victory in 2021, the U.S. won its seventh Gold Cup title and we think it will get number eight this summer.

It does, however, start its campaign off with a challenging game against Jamaica. Jamaica has seven English Premier League players at this tournament, including stars like Michail Antonio of West Ham United and Leon Bailey of Aston Villa.

Cory Burke of the New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union's Damion Lowe and Minnesota United's Kemar Lawrence make up a promising Jamaica squad, and we think it will give the U.S. a good test.

However, after winning the Nations League by defeating Mexico in the semifinals and Canada in the final, we give the edge to the U.S. on matchday one.

Both teams to score, U.S. to win and a goal scored in both halves is +332 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Trinidad and Tobago vs. Saint Kitts and Nevis (Sunday)

Although it is +105 to win, Trinidad and Tobago is the narrow favorite to win against Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Romaine Sawyers of Cardiff City is the only notable player for Saint Kitts and Nevis; there are not many star players for Trinidad and Tobago these days. However, Sporting Kansas City's Kaïlé Auvray will look to get in on the act this tournament.

We don’t expect many goals here, and with this match being a tough one to call, we’re heading for under 2.5 goals.

Under 2.5 goals is -152 with BetMGM Sportsbook.

Haiti vs. Qatar (Sunday)

Although it failed to win a game at its home World Cup over the winter, Qatar is expected to start with a victory at the Gold Cup against Haiti.

All attention falls on the shoulders of Almoez Ali, as he has scored 42 times in 88 games for Qatar and with the legendary figure of Carlos Queiroz at the helm, we expect a solid tournament from it.

Haiti has a few good players on its team, most notably, Derrick Etienne of Atlanta United. With this in mind, it could get a goal at least.

Both teams to score and Qatar to win is +333 with DraftKings Sportsbook.

Mexico vs. Honduras (Sunday)

It's been a tough few years for Mexico with the likes of Javier Hernandez calling it a day for it. Other MLS stars like Carlos Vela have also walked out on the national team in the last few years, meaning Henry Martin is the main man for Mexico these days, as he scored 27 goals this season for America in Liga MX.

As for Honduras, none of its defenders have more than 11 caps and it heads into this Gold Cup with a very inexperienced team, which only makes things easier for Mexico.

Henry Martin to score anytime and Mexico to win is +137 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Costa Rica vs. Panama (Monday)

Costa Rica and Panama play out the toughest game to call on Monday as both come into this game with three losses in 2023 so far.

Most notably, Panama was defeated by Canada in the Nations League semi-final and then lost to Mexico in the playoff for the third spot.

Barely anything separates them right now, so we’re heading for a tie.

A tie is +190 with BetMGM Sportsbook.

El Salvador vs. Martinique (Monday)

There are a few MLS players on show for El Salvador at the Gold Cup such as Eriq Zavaleta of LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders' Alex Roldan, and although it is far from the favorite to win the tournament, we expect it to ease to a win against Martinique.

Across its 23-man squad for the Gold Cup, there have been just 13 goals scored for Martinique, which makes it the lowest-scoring nation at these finals.

El Salvador to win and keep a shutout is +207 with Caesars Sportsbook.

Canada vs. Guadeloupe (Tuesday)

Despite losing the Nations League final, Canada is a huge favorite to defeat Guadeloupe.

In fact, at -550, no side has lower odds of winning a game on matchday one and it should be a comfortable win for the Maple Leafs.

Guadeloupe is not even recognized as a member of FIFA, as it is an overseas department of the French Republic, and it is lucky to be in attendance at the Gold Cup.

Canada to win 3-0 is +600 with Unibet Sportsbook.

Guatemala vs. Cuba (Tuesday)

Rubio Rubin is the standout player amongst these two squads and he no doubt hands Guatemala the edge in this match.

Cuba also comes into this game having lost both its recent friendlies without scoring a goal and it has managed to score only twice in four games in 2023.

The Guatemalan squad is also way more experienced and it has even added Nathaniel Mendez-Laing of Derby County to its squad for the first time.

Guatemala to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 is +120 with FanDuel Sportsbook.
