FA Cup 2023 Semifinals Picks
It’s the biggest weekend of FA Cup action this season in England with the semifinals taking place across Saturday and Sunday, as Manchester City battles with Sheffield United before Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United clash at Wembley.
To get you ready to hit the best soccer betting sites to make your wager, here are our FA Cup picks for the weekend.
Manchester City to Beat Sheffield United With Ease
City is now on course for a historic treble this season, securing a spot in the Champions League semifinals. It is also the huge favorite to beat Sheffield United at Wembley this weekend at -950.
After a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in midweek, the Citizens are now within touching distance of winning all three major trophies this season. They have now also scored 78 goals in the Premier League after easing past Leicester City 3-1 last weekend.
You have to go back to early February to see City's last defeat this season when Tottenham Hotspur beat it 1-0.
Sheffield United has had a fantastic campaign, but it is in the division below City and it still hasn’t secured promotion back into the Premier League. It is expected to do so, however, with it now seven points above Luton Town and still in second.
Nevertheless, 22 places in the English football pyramid keep these two apart from one another and this should be an easy win for City.
PICK: Manchester City to win, over 3.5 goals in the game and Erling Haaland to score is +131 with FanDuel Sportsbook.
Manchester United to Narrowly Beat Brighton
While the match between City and Sheffield is easy to call, this game between United and Brighton is very different.
United is heading into this game looking for its second trophy of the season and with it back into third. It has turned around its form very well since losing to Newcastle United a few weeks back. It has beaten Brentford 1-0, Everton 2-0 and Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the Premier League to take it to 14 shutouts this season - no team in the Premier League has more.
At the same time, Brighton and United have conceded 37 goals this season in the league, but Brighton has scored more with 54 compared to United's 46.
The Seagulls have been in sensational form since Roberto De Zerbi took over as head coach a few months back. Now, after defeating Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge, De Zerbi has taken his record to 15 wins from 29 games with Brighton, losing only seven times.
In truth, it’s a game that could go either way. We’re giving the edge to United because of Marcus Rashford’s return to action and the dominant midfield trio of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.
PICK: Manchester United to win, under 3.5 goals and Marcus Rashford to score anytime is +730 with FanDuel Sportsbook.
