Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Betting Tips: 5 Selections From Scotland

This week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has appropriately attracted a star-studded field for this much-loved Pro-Am where actors and entertainers mix with the world’s greatest players over the first three days.

There are 14 LIV golfers competing at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, including Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm, the 7/1 joint-favourite with Rory McIlroy on betting sites.

Rahm let The Panel down when he lost a play-off at the Spanish Open last week, but fellow Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Heredia at least provided compensation with a top-20 finish at 9/2.

The Panel remain in profit for every month since these columns started in June and hopefully that remains the case after this week’s trip to Scotland.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Betting Tips: Hop On Hatton

Tyrrell Hatton returns to the scene of his first European Tour success in 2016 which he followed with a successful title defence a year later.

In 2018, Hatton was heading for a hat-trick of wins at this event, but a five-shot lead on the final day evaporated on the back nine and he had to settle for a runner-up spot behind Lucas Bjerregaard.

Since then his record on these links courses read 15-2-7, so it’s clear this is a part of the world where Hatton thrives.

The 32-year-old from High Wycombe finished fourth on the individual points list on the 2024 LIV Golf Tour where his sole victory came in Nashville in June.

Hatton is up against a quality field this week, but his record here cannot be questioned and he kicks off The Panel’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship tips at 11/1 with golf betting sites.

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Odds: Forrest On Fire

There are many potential winners from the top of the field like McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry, all of whom have multiple top-five finishes at this prestigious tournament, but surprising winners are not uncommon here.

Oliver Wilson (500/1), Thorbjorn Olesen (200/1), Michael Hoey (250/1) and Victor Perez (175/1) are just some of the players that have entered the winner’s circle at three-figure prices over the last 13 years, so The Panel are happy to look further down the field for potential champions.

One player who stands is out Grant Forrest, who has excellent recent form and at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Scot may have just one European Tour title to his name, but that came at the Hero Open in 2021 when it was played at Fairmont St Andrews, just a three-mile drive from the Old Course.

Forrest was fifth on the links course at Royal County Down last month and shot the best final round at the Spanish Open to take a tie for third spot, so he looks bang in form.

Tenth in his last two appearances at this tournament, Forrest is a decent prospect at 80/1 with Unibet.

The Panel's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Prediction 2: Grant Forrest To Win (Each-Way) - 80/1 With Unibet (Six Places)

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Preview: Rozner Ripe For Success

At the same price, Antoine Rozner also appeals to go well just as he has in his last two appearances on the east coast of Scotland.

The Frenchman finished alongside McIlroy in fourth place in 2022, just two shots behind winner Ryan Fox, and at last year’s weather-affected event shot a third-round 66 at Kingsbarns to sneak into the top 10.

Equally encouraging was Rozner’s performance at the BMW PGA Championship where he shot four sub-70 rounds and dropped just four shots all week to finish in a tie for seventh.

All three of Rozner’s victories on the DP World Tour have come outside the continent, but his recent form and course history make him a potential candidate at 80/1 with betting apps.

The Panel's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Prediction 3: Antoine Rozner To Win (Each-Way) - 80/1 With William Hill (Eight Places)

Alfred Dunhill Championship Predictions: Winther And Arnaus Can Compete

Garcia-Heredia gave The Panel some solace from Rahm’s play-off heartache and Jeff Winther can enjoy similar success in the top-20 market at a bigger price.

The Dane has finished inside the top 15 in two of his previous three Alfred Dunhill Links Championship appearances and his recent form suggests he could put in a decent showing this week.

Winther may be just inside the world’s top 250, but he finished 17th at the European Masters and 18th at Wentworth recently, although on the negative side he did miss the cut at the Irish Open which is played on a links course.

However, he has been showing good form in recent weeks and The Panel recommend taking odds of 13/2 with new betting sites for a top-20 finish.

The Panel's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Prediction 4: Jeff Winther Top 20 - 13/2 With Bet365

The last of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship betting tips is for Adri Arnaus to finish inside the top 30 for the fourth consecutive time at this tournament.

The Spaniard’s last three visits read 24-22-14 and he also sneaked into the top 30 at the Spanish Open last week.

His form suggests he won’t be threatening a title challenge against a quality field, but another top 30 at 17/4 with SpreadEx does not look beyond him.
