Championship BTTS Tips: The Panel's 4 Predictions For The Weekend

We have another round of Championship fixtures to look forward to this weekend after missing out on a 9/1 acca by one goal last Saturday.

Five of the six teams in action in the lunchtime kick-offs had scored by half-time, but Middlesbrough failed to find the net at Sunderland after the break which meant Bristol City's 2-1 win against Oxford at 3pm was immaterial.

Hopefully, The Panel can go one better as they pick out the best odds from betting sites on games in the second tier for Saturday and Sunday which can be backed in a four-fold at more than 8/1 with Bet365.

Watford Vs Sunderland Tips: Hornets And Black Cats Look Sharp

Watford turned in a respectable performance at Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, going down 2-1 to Pep Guardiola’s side.

They could do with returning to winning ways in the Championship, though, having taken only one point from the last nine on offer under new manager Tom Cleverley.

On the plus side, Watford have scored in all but one of their six matches to date, as well as in three League Cup ties. However, they will have to be close to their best to defeat Sunderland, who are second in the Championship after a marvellous start under Regis Le Bris.

With 13 goals to their name, Sunderland are the second tier’s joint-top scorers after half a dozen fixtures. The Black Cats carry a real threat in attack and they are not merely reliant on a single player to find the back of the net.

Goals at both ends is a distinct possibility in this one which can be backed at 4/5 with football betting sites.

The Panel's Championship BTTS Predictions Sep 28-29:

Oxford Vs Burnley Odds: Goals Expected At Kassam

Oxford have hit the ground running following promotion via the League One play-offs last term.

Widely tipped to struggle given they have little experience at this level, Des Buckingham’s charges have won three and lost three of their first six games, a record which has them ninth in the standings.

The Us have scored 10 goals to date, a tally bettered by only three teams in the Championship. One of those is Burnley, who intend to get straight back into the Premier League after relegation last time out.

The Clarets have made the net bulge on 13 occasions, a joint-high alongside Sunderland.

Burnley are likely to dominate possession at the Kassam Stadium and they have some very good attacking players at this level.

But Oxford are no pushovers and Buckingham will draw plenty of belief from the fact his team have scored in all six matches so far. We reckon they can make it seven in a row on Saturday, but a clean sheet will surely be beyond them.

Leeds Vs Coventry Preview: Elland Road Thriller On Cards

Leeds have made a solid, if unspectacular start to the season.

Daniel Farke’s men, who lost the play-off final at the end of 2023/24, have won three, drawn two and lost one of their first six Championship clashes, yet they are 6/4 favourites with betting apps to be promoted.

Leeds have failed to score in a third of their league games to date, but they are about to face a Coventry side that have not been as defensively secure as many anticipated, with eight goals conceded in six matches.

The Sky Blues have once again started slowly under Mark Robins, winning just one encounter so far.

Still, Coventry are bound to come good at some point and they have at least scored in their last three away games in all competitions.

It could be an exciting game at Elland Road, so this match is the third of the Panel's both teams to score predictions.

Swansea Vs Bristol City Betting Tips:

This match is the sole Sunday fixture in the Championship, so hopefully the Panel's four-fold acca is still alive by the time the teams meet in south Wales.

Swansea are just outside the top six thanks to impressive back-to-back victories over Norwich and Coventry, are now looking for a third win on the spin against Bristol City.

Liam Manning’s men have had a mixed start, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their six outings. It is still early days but their away record is cause for concern: the Robins have taken nine out of their 10 points at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City have only scored once in those three away games, but The Panel reckon they will breach Swansea’s rearguard on this occasion.

Based on expected goals, only six sides in the division have created better chances than Bristol City, who now need to start converting more of the opportunities they fashion.
