Jordan Pickford Next Club Odds: Tottenham Favourites To Sign England Stopper
The transfer window is open until 11pm on Friday and UK betting sites reckon there will be plenty more business until then.
Everton are one club still hoping to get a couple more deals done as they look to avoid a third relegation battle on the bounce.
The fact they have started the season poorly - no points after three rounds of fixtures - heightens the need for reinforcements.
There could be one or two exits too, not least because Everton are not exactly flush with money and any proceeds generated from sales could be reinvested into the squad.
One man they will not want to lose, however, is Jordan Pickford.
Yet despite that there is a market open on the England international seeking pastures new. Let’s take a closer look.
Prolonged Everton Stay Most Likely Outcome
Before we take a look at some of the clubs listed above, it is worth noting that Everton will be extremely reluctant to lose Pickford.
He has been a rare bright spot at Goodison Park over the last couple of years and continues to deliver for the club.
Pickford is comfortable in possession, an underrated shot-stopper and a vocal presence between the posts.
Moreover, Everton have tied Pickford down until 2027 and selling him now would give the club very little chance to source a replacement.
The fans are already unhappy with the ownership and their protests could descend into open mutiny if their No.1 was let go.
Tottenham Favourites Should Late Move Materialise
Tottenham had Hugo Lloris as their first choice behind the defence for 11 seasons, but that has now changed.
The Frenchman’s form declined last term and Spurs decided to move on, but he is actually still on their books at the time of writing.
Regardless, Guglielmo Vicario is now Tottenham’s go-to goalkeeper. The north Londoners signed him this summer, so they are not exactly on the hunt for a new No.1.
That is why it is a surprise to see them available at 3/1 with football betting sites to sign Pickford with just a few days of the transfer window remaining.
Chelsea Can Never Be Dismissed When It Comes To Transfers
Chelsea have spent over £1bn in the Todd Boehly era, which only began midway through 2022.
In many ways they have ripped up the transfer rules and we must wait and see what the long-term implications are.
Chelsea have certainly disrupted the wider market and their behaviour is what you might call unconventional.
Nothing can be ruled out when it comes to the Blues these days, which is why a late swoop for Pickford is not impossible.
Still, odds of 10/1 with Parimatch are not justified when you consider Chelsea have just signed Djordje Petrovic to compete with Robert Sanchez.
Manchester United Have Already Added New Goalkeeper
Several Premier League sides have bought new custodians this summer and Manchester United (12/1) are one of them.
The Red Devils were ruthless in their ditching of David de Gea, who has still not found a new club despite his status as a free agent.
Andre Onana has succeeded the Spaniard. The Cameroonian has made a decent start to his career at Old Trafford, even though his team have conceded four goals in their last two matches.
United are about to sign Sofyan Amrabat if reports are to be believed, but they will not be adding Pickford to their squad any time soon.
West Ham Have Two Decent Picks Between Sticks
West Ham are available at the same 12/1 price with BetVictor as Man Utd to sign Pickford, but it is equally hard to see this deal being done.
Having previously opted for Lukasz Fabianski as his first choice, David Moyes has switched to Alphonse Areola this season.
The former Paris Saint-Germain man has responded well to his promotion, turning in a fantastic display against Brighton last weekend.
West Ham already have two good goalkeepers on the books, so they too will not be moving for Pickford.
Brighton And Crystal Palace Already Well Stocked
Brighton (14/1) spent just over £16m to land Bart Verbruggen in July, and the Dutchman looks like the perfect fit for the side under Roberto De Zerbi.
Jason Steele showed last season that he is a more than adequate option too.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace (rated 16/1 with betting apps) are on the verge of completing the signing of Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
He will battle it out with England colleague Sam Johnstone for the starting spot at Selhurst Park.
