Next Portsmouth Manager Odds: Lowe Favourite To Replace Under-Pressure Mousinho
John Mousinho is under huge pressure as Portsmouth manager and the best betting sites have opened a market on who might replace him.
Following promotion from League One last season, Pompey are aiming to establish themselves back in the second tier this year.
They have got off to a poor start, however, losing four and drawing four of their first eight encounters. Their most recent outing ended in a crushing 6-1 defeat at Stoke.
Mousinho remains in position for now, but a negative result in Saturday’s crunch clash with Oxford could spell the end for the 38-year-old former Burton and Oxford defender.

Lowe Down As Early Favourite
Ryan Lowe is the 7/4 favourite with football betting sites to take charge at Portsmouth.
He recently ended a three-year stint at Preston, with whom he twice finished in the top half of the Championship table despite financial constraints. Lowe has probably done enough to earn another shot at the second tier.
The question is whether he wants to get straight back into management or whether he would prefer a period away from the game after leaving Preston just over a month ago.
Edwards High On The List
Joe Edwards is priced at 2/1, making him the second-favourite to succeed Mousinho.
Formerly an assistant manager at Chelsea, Edwards made the step up to first-team football when he was employed by Millwall last November. However, he was sacked less than four months later after a run of poor results.
Edwards is still a highly-rated coach and he could be among the options Portsmouth are considering if Mousinho does indeed leave the club.
However, his experience at Millwall may make it difficult for Edwards to get another Championship role immediately.

Pearson Waiting For Next Opportunity
Unlike the relatively young Edwards, Nigel Pearson is a manager at the other end of his career.
But the former Leicester and Bristol City boss still has more to give at the age of 61, and we could see him back in the Championship this season.
If the powers that be at Portsmouth conclude that the club is genuinely in a relegation battle, Pearson’s experience would be a welcome asset.
He has now been out of work for almost a year and is available at 3/1 for the Portsmouth job.
Schumacher Looking For New Role
Steven Schumacher is another manager who recently lost his job, with Stoke pulling the trigger on the 40-year-old last month.
It was a surprising decision and Schumacher recently said that he is still at a loss as to why he was given the heave-ho.
"I don’t understand and I still haven’t had a full explanation on why I lost my job," Schumacher told BBC Sport.
He could be in the frame for the Portsmouth job, with the former Plymouth boss currently available at 7/2.
Ainsworth’s Style Could Be An Issue
Gareth Ainsworth did a fantastic job with Wycombe during an 11-year spell between 2012-23.
He turned down several offers during that time, before eventually joining Queens Park Rangers last year. Unfortunately, Ainsworth did not do well at Loftus Road.
That could be a barrier to him getting another Championship job, not least because many clubs will be put off - rightly or wrongly - by his direct, long-ball style of play. Nevertheless, Ainsworth is a 9/2 option in this market.
Mowbray Has Vast Championship Experience
Tony Mowbray has shown himself to be an excellent manager at Championship level over a number of years.
He was harshly dismissed by Sunderland in December, before taking the Blackburn job a few weeks later. However, Mowbray had to leave that position in May due to health issues.
It is therefore hard to predict if and when Mowbray will be back in the dugout. He hinted in an interview in August that he is over the worst of his illness, but that does not necessarily mean he is ready to take on another managerial role right now.
Mowbray is priced at 5/1 to be the next Portsmouth head coach.
