Thursday's Wimbledon Predictions: The Panel's Best Bets And Tips For Day Four

Thursday's Wimbledon Betting Tips

We are treated to not one but two all-British showdowns at Wimbledon on Thursday, while another homegrown talent will look to pull off a massive upset in the men’s singles second round.

World number 277 Jacob Fearnley has the unenviable task of trying to overcome seven-time All England Club champion Novak Djokovic, who showed no ill effects from his knee surgery in his first-round outing.

Betting sites don’t expect the Serb to falter against Brit Fearnley, but the odds are a little closer for the ‘Battles of Britain’ between Harriet Dart and Katie Boulter in the women’s and Jack Draper versus Cameron Norrie in the men’s singles.

The Norrie against Draper clash features among The Panel’s selections for day four at SW19.

They’ve picked out their four favourite bets, which can be thrown together into a fourfold that pays over 10/1 with BoyleSports.

Jack Draper Vs Cameron Norrie Prediction

With Andy Murray preparing to exit stage left, hopes are high that Draper can step into the Scot’s very big shoes as Britain’s top male talent.

He’ll need to play better than he did in his first-round win over Elias Ymer if he is to reach Murray's previous heights, Draper having looked nervy on Centre Court on Tuesday evening.

Now he takes on the man he recently deposed as Britain’s number one, Norrie, who ended a run of four successive defeats with a straight sets win over Facundo Diaz Acosta.

Tennis betting sites make Draper a strong favourite, but there’s every reason to think Norrie can challenge his usurper with The Panel liking the 11/8 on both players to win a set in a Draper win.

We are only two years removed from Norrie reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals, and that experience of being the centre of attention here should stand him in good stead against Draper, who hasn’t been beyond round two at SW19.

Draper looks made for grass court tennis though and results this year demonstrate that, while this has never been Norrie’s favourite surface.

Draper should move on, but expect him to do it the hard way once more.

Holger Rune Vs Thiago Seyboth Wild Prediction

Thiago Seyboth Wild had to come from two sets down in his first-round encounter with Paul Jubb and doesn’t look entirely comfortable playing on grass.

The All England Club’s courts are hardly Holger Rune’s happiest hunting ground either, but he gave no hint of that in his straight-sets win over Soonwoo Kwon, and this could be another straightforward assignment.

Rune’s serve has become a big weapon for the Dane, who sent down 16 aces against Kim to take his tally to 56 in just six grass-court matches this year.

That’s bad news for Wild, who had issues dealing with Judd’s serve on Tuesday.

Rune won two of his three matches at the last grand slam, the French Open, in straight sets and looks too good for Wild, who had never previously qualified for Wimbledon before this year.

The Panel Tip: Rune To Win 3-0 – 21/20 With BetVictor

Leylah Fernandez VS Caroline Wozniacki Prediction

If you read Tuesday’s Wimbledon tips, you’ll know The Panel are fans of Leylah Fernandez and expected her to have few issues seeing off first-round opponent Lucia Bronzetti.

That proved to be the case, the Canadian winning in straight sets to move on to round two, where she should face more of a challenge against former world number one Carolina Wozniacki.

Wozniacki is playing at SW19 for the first time since 2019 and will have enjoyed her emphatic win over Alycia Parks in round one.

Wozniacki broke Parks five times in that clash, but Fernandez’s service game has been sharp since the start of what’s been an excellent grass court season.

This has always been Wozniacki’s least favourite slam – she’s never gone further than the fourth round – and she’s opposed here with The Panel happy to put their faith in the 30th seed once more.

Yulia Putintseva Vs Katerina Siniakova Predictions

Yulia Putintseva was also a winner for The Panel on Tuesday and there’s a temptation to back her again here at odds-against on betting apps.

But this is one of the most competitive betting heats of the day against Katerina Siniakova and these two look tough to split.

Siniakova won their only previous meeting in straight sets back in May on clay, but Putintseva has really picked up since switching to grass and is yet to taste defeat on the surface.

Siniakova has also enjoyed a decent grass court season, albeit without she hasn’t won a title like Putintseva, or knocked out a former Wimbledon champion, Angelique Kerber, in round one.

Whichever way you look at this contest, these competitors are evenly matched, and that could translate into a tight and potentially lengthy tie

Three of Siniakova’s last four matches on grass have gone the distance, but even if this match does end in two sets, there’s still the potential for over 21.5 games to land should these two consistently take games off one another.

The Panel Tip: Over 21.5 Games In Putintseva Vs Siniakova - 4/5 With Coral
