Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers

7:30 p.m. ET, TNT

Line: Nets -8; Total: 220 points

I am betting on the Philadelphia 76ers +8 at BetMGM.

The one certainty you can expect in tonight’s Nets-76ers matchup is the Nets’ Ben Simmons receiving a less-than-warm welcome from the 76ers fans in attendance. However, the fans better recognize the fact that Simmons is coming off three consecutive games scoring in double digits.

Simmons scored a season-high 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting, including eight boards and seven assists in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Over his last three games, he has shot 22-for-26 (85%) from the field, including 26 rebounds and 15 assists.

Simmons ranks 14th on the all-time triple-double list with 32. Despite the physical and mental issues he has been dealing with over the last year, he remains one of the game's most spectacular ball handlers and distributors. The matchup favors Simmons and the Nets, given that all-star center Joel Embiid is out for this game nursing a left-mid-foot sprain.

The 76ers have been playing without James Harden, who will miss at least the next two weeks with a strained right foot. Defensive specialist P.J. Tucker, who is assigned to guard Keven Durant is listed as questionable with an unspecified injury.

Situational Trends and Angles

  • The 76ers are 10-5 ATS (67%) as a home dog between 3.5 and 9.5 points over the past five seasons.
  • The Nets are 11-21 ATS (34%) as a favorite of 4.5 to 9.5 points in games played over the last two seasons.
