WNBA Tips & Odds: The Panel's Picks And Best Bets For Thursday's Games 06/27

Our WNBA Picks For Thursday

With the NBA Draft in the rear view mirror, the WNBA now takes center stage.

One of the best things about the league is the rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. The other is that there is some great action coming over the next three weeks.

Our focus lies on the three televised night games here. Will there be a surprise or two or will things go as expected for once?

The Panel has looked at all the stats, data and key players ahead of tonight’s WNBA schedule to bring you these three predictions with sports betting sites.

Connecticut Sun Vs Washington Mystics (O/U 152.5, Sun -9.5)

The Connecticut Sun are 13-3 on the young WNBA season but facing a little bit of adversity.

Consecutive losses to Las Vegas and Seattle were not completely unexpected. However, after the Sun yielded a mere six points in the first quarter to the Storm, they allowed 66 over the final three quarters.

Lost in all of this was the offense, which went ice cold en route to a measly 61 points. That was almost 19 points below their season average of 79.7.

One of the problems with Connecticut is their ATS versus Washington. The first meeting was closer at seven points, but the second was a 17-point rout.

Washington is the second-worst team in the league. However, they have won four of their previous five games, including a sweep of Dallas. The Mystics have not defeated a team over .500 in 2024.

Best betting sites are offering a Moneyline pick at around -550 while the spread comes in around the 9.5 range.

Can the Sun win this game in Washington by double digits or do the Mystics continue their run of good fortune?

Connecticut is eager to get back on the winning side of things, so taking the Under at 152.5 is one option.

The Panel believes that the Sun should be able to pull away from the Mystics on Thursday night and cover the spread.

The Panel Pick 1: Connecticut - 9.5 Points Over Washington -115 With DraftKings

Las Vegas Aces Vs Chicago Sky (O/U 170.5, Aces - 10.5)

When the Las Vegas Aces and Angel Reese face off on Thursday night, the big question is how many rebounds can Reese rack up?

What was once an opening line of eight points for Las Vegas has ballooned to as high as 10.5. A -410 Moneyline is now up to -530.

While the Aces have elevated their level of play, the Sky can be tough at home and one of the big reasons is Reese having grabbed 13 or more rebounds in four straight games.

The opening line was over 12.5 rebounds at -100. Now, that number has backed off to 11.5 at -110 while books are offering 14.5.

The Forward could get there, but playing it safe is prudent and The Panel's pick here is to see Reese grab 12+ rebounds on Thursday night against Las Vegas.

The Panel Pick 2: Angel Reese Over 11.5 Rebounds  -110 With FanDuel

Indiana Fever vs Seattle Storm (O/U 168.5, Storm -8.5)

The Indiana Fever have won four of their five games and come off a narrow one-point defeat to the Chicago Sky.

Meanwhile, Seattle are fresh off one of their best performances of the season, a 72-61 home win over the Connecticut Sun, and have only lost at home once this season.

Furthermore, Seattle are 6-1 against teams from the Eastern Conference and Indiana is 3-7 on the road while allowing 87.9 points per game.

Both teams are expected to score more on Thursday. However, Seattle's over 88.5 points may be a bit high.

It’s not impossible, but Seattle’s defense can do something else: slow Caitlin Clark’s three-point shooting down. They held Connecticut to 14.3% shooting from beyond the arc last weekend.

The number opened at 3.5 for Clark but quickly lowered to 2.5. We still believe in the Under here, and now this is in plus money territory.

It is worth a small wagered shot on Thursday.
