WNBA Tips & Odds: The Panel's Picks And Best Bets For Thursday, July 4

Our WNBA Picks For Thursday

There's holiday basketball on Thursday night with a July 4 Prime Video doubleheader, so expect some fireworks on the court!

The first game is a mouthwatering clash while the second might be a rout as Las Vegas look to win a sixth straight game by double-digit points.

Playing the Washington Mystics would seem to make that almost a lock, but anything can happen.

The Panel has looked at all the stats, data and key players ahead of tonight’s WNBA schedule to bring you these three predictions with sports betting sites.

Connecticut Sun Vs Minnesota Lynx (O/U 155.5, Lynx -1.5)

Connecticut keep finding ways to win and at 15-4, they have put together a great first half of the season but recent form suggests the Sun are still not the finished article.

They gave up 91 points to Washington of all teams and then beat a shorthanded Phoenix team, so as we approach the WNBA All-Star Break, expect a few twists and turns.

Yes, teams even as good as the Sun, go through ebbs and flows.

Minnesota still leads the Western Conference with a 14-5 mark. However, the last two contests showed more of the defensive side of things.

Their last game was a physical 76-67 defeat at the hands of the New York Liberty, who were playing on their actual home court at Madison Square Garden.

Best betting sites are offering the moneyline pick at around -125 while the spread has stayed right at 1.5 points.

Minnesota are 9-1 at home, while Connecticut is 7-2 on the road.

The game total of 155.5 is worth a look, but the spread is basically one field goal and The Panel believes that the Lynx should be able to cover against the Sun on Thursday night in a close contest.

Washington Mystics vs Las Vegas Aces (O/U 169.5, Aces - 16.5)

When the Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics face off on Thursday night, the big question is how many points can the Aces win by?

The opening line for Las Vegas has skyrocketed to a whopping 16.5 points while a -2200 moneyline seems unheard of, and yet here we are.

While the Mystics have been far from good this year, Washington almost beat Connecticut last week and only lost to Las Vegas by 11.

Vegas have kicked into gear and even turned up the defensive intensity a little. Against Indiana on Tuesday night, they held the Fever to 69 points and coasted to a 19-point victory.

That included holding Indiana to 10 fourth-quarter points.

Our pick here is a similar result for Las Vegas on Thursday night. Lay the points, as FanDuel has this at -15.5 for now.

The Panel Pick 2: Las Vegas -15.5 points over Washington  -112 With FanDuel

Can Vegas Pile Up The Points?

The Las Vegas Aces can score points with the best of teams. They lead the WNBA, averaging 87.8 points per game, and keep playing at the league’s highest pace.

Even in their 88-69 win over Indiana, the Aces left some points on the table.

However, the Washington Mystics have won five of their last eight games after an 0-12 start. One common thread, even in their wins, is giving up points.

The last two meetings with the likes of Connecticut and Las Vegas saw the Mystics allow a total of 91 points per contest.

While the Aces have turned up the defensive intensity, that may ignite their offense further. Points in transition could play a big role in whether Las Vegas hits that Over of 93.5 points on Thursday night.

Washington could be in for a very long night if the Aces can limit their occasional lapses.

It is a tough choice, but take Las Vegas to score 94 or more points.

The Panel Pick 3: Las Vegas Over 93.5 Points -115 With BetMGM
