Breaking Down Over/Under Win Totals for All 30 NBA Teams

No introduction needed here. If you’re considering a season-long over-under win total we’re giving you quick analysis on all 30 teams and giving you our pick on whether they’ll hit or miss oddsmakers’ win totals. All totals are from 888Sport.

Atlanta Hawks | Over/Under 24.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 23-59

Rookie Trae Young might have a rude awakening as he adjusts to the NBA game. Forward John Collins is ready to make a jump but the Hawks still feel a year away from true improvement under a new head coach.

The pick: Bet Atlanta to win under 24.5 games.

Boston Celtics | Over/Under 57.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 59-23

This is a team that won 55 games a year ago despite Gordon Hayward missing 81 games and Kyrie Irving missing 22. Their kids are a year older and they have the best coach in the league. No-brainer.

The pick: Bet Boston to win over 57.5 games.

Brooklyn Nets | Over/Under 31.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 30-52

They’re still a year away from really showing progression, though Jarrett Allen, Spencer Dinwiddie and D’Angelo Russell is a nice core to build around. It just might take another year before the wins come with it.

The pick: Bet Brooklyn to win under 31.5 games.

Charlotte Hornets | Over/Under 35.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 26-56

With new general manager Mitch Kupchak in charge, this roster could (and should) get blown up as a rebuild begins. Kemba Walker is an impending free agent and they have a pair of awful contracts in Nicolas Batum and Cody Zeller.

The pick: Bet Charlotte to win under 35.5 games.

Chicago Bulls | Over/Under 28.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 33-49

Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine missed 102 games last year, the Bulls were actively tanking and still managed 27 wins. Adding Jabari Parker and Wendell Carter Jr., while getting their core healthy means an improved year.

The pick: Bet Chicago to win over 28.5 games.

Cleveland Cavaliers | Over/Under 30.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 34-48

The last time LeBron James departed the Cavaliers won 19 games the following year. They’re much better this time around, led by Kevin Love, J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson. Rookie Collin Sexton is the real deal. They’ll stay above water.

The pick: Bet Cleveland to win over 30.5 games.

Dallas Mavericks | Over/Under 34.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 32-60

The pieces are beginning to come together – Dennis Smith and Luka Doncic are the future of the franchise – and they’ll be improved from a year ago. Still, oddsmakers have given lofty expectations for a 10+ win jump.

The pick: Bet Dallas to win under 34.5 games.

Denver Nuggets | Over/Under 46.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 49-33

The Nuggets won 46 games last season despite Paul Millsap missing three months, and their young core is ready to explode. They also added Isaiah Thomas in the offseason. 50 wins is possible, even in the West.

The pick: Bet Denver to win over 46.5 games.

Detroit Pistons | Over/Under 38.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 40-42

The Pistons went 17-17 after they acquired Blake Griffin and hope they’ll have a healthy Reggie Jackson as they try and get back to the postseason. Swapping Stan Van Gundy for Dwane Casey is a win, too.

The pick: Bet Detroit to win over 38.5 games.

Golden State Warriors | Over/Under 63.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 65-17

Myriad injuries and rest days meant only 58 wins for the Warriors last season. The regular season is a playground for them, but still expect a bounceback and the West’s top seed from Steve Kerr’s group.

The pick: Bet Golden State to win over 63.5 games.

Houston Rockets | Over/Under 55.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 54-28

They’re pegged for at least 50 wins with James Harden and Chris Paul, but losing Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Trevor Ariza on the wing is significant. They could regress after last year’s magical regular season.

The pick: Bet Chicago to win under 55.5 games.

Indiana Pacers | Over/Under 46.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 48-34

Victor Oladipo has the Pacers trending upward after last year’s surprising 48-win campaign. They had a terrific offseason and Myles Turner should bounce back. Expect them to replicate what they did a year ago.

The pick: Bet Indiana to win over 46.5 games.

Los Angeles Clippers | Over/Under 35.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 29-53

A rebuilding process may be underway, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jermone Robinson and Tobias Harris. If they’re sellers at the deadline they won’t come close to this win total.

The pick: Bet LA Clippers to win under 35.5 games.

Los Angeles Lakers | Over/Under 48.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 45-37

LeBron is capable of anything, but the Lakers are going to require time to mesh with so many new and young faces. We don’t doubt LeBron will win there eventually; it just might not happen right away.

The pick: Bet LA Lakers to win under 48.5 games.

Memphis Grizzlies | Over/Under 33.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 35-47

They had a fantastic offseason and will get a healthy and get a motivated Mike Conley back in the fold. If Jaren Jackson Jr. is ready to compete right away, this Grizzlies team will surprise many.

The pick: Bet Memphis to win over 33.5 games.

Miami Heat | Over/Under 40.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 43-39

We’re not going to bet against a deep Heat team in a weak Eastern Conference. They lack a true superstar but also have a solid rotation and a mix of youth and vets.

The pick: Bet Miami to win over 40.5 games.

Milwaukee Bucks | Over/Under 46.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 47-35

If Mike Budenholzer can figure out this roster there’s no reason Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks can’t top this mark, which is just three wins better from last season.

The pick: Bet Milwaukee to win over 46.5 games.

Minnesota Timberwolves | Over/Under 44.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 42-40

This team has major blow-up potential. The talent is there, yet so is the strife. It’s anyone’s guess as to the future of this team, but we wouldn’t bet on it being positive.

The pick: Bet Minnesota to win under 44.5 games.

New Orleans Pelicans | Over/Under 44.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 47-35

Anthony Davis might not have a ceiling. That also means he and Jrue Holiday are capable of taking the Pelicans to serious heights. They have a chance to flirt with 50 wins with a legitimate MVP candidate.

The pick: Bet New Orleans to win over 44.5 games.

New York Knicks | Over/Under 29.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 35-47

Don’t sleep on the Knicks. If Kristaps Porzingis can return sooner than expected they’ve got the young talent to compete for a playoff spot in a weak Eastern Conference. This one should hit easily.

The pick: Bet New York to win over 29.5 games.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Over/Under 49.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 46-36

They’re certainly paying for their talent. Carmelo Anthony is gone and Dennis Schroder is in, which should help depth-wise (and shot selection). For whatever reason we think there could be some regression here.

The pick: Bet Oklahoma City to win under 49.5 games.

Orlando Magic | Over/Under 30.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 25-57

This franchise has topped the 30-win mark just once since 2012. And while they’re improved in a number of areas, they’ve got far more potential than talent right now.

The pick: Bet Orlando to win under 30.5 games.

Philadelphia 76ers | Over/Under 54.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 52-30

The Sixers ended last season with 16 straight victories in a 52-win campaign. Assuming they don’t have another wild run, but do show improvement in other areas, that feels about right as a win total again.

The pick: Bet Philadelphia to win under 54.5 games.

Phoenix Suns | Over/Under 29.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 32-50

They’re beginning to put the pieces together with seven Lottery picks aged 24 or younger. That’ll play in today’s NBA, even in a tough Western Conference. Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton will have this squad vastly improved.

The pick: Bet Phoenix to win over 29.5 games.

Portland Trail Blazers | Over/Under 42.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 45-37

Apparently no love for the Blazers after they return most of their core from a 49-win season a year ago. As long as Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic are around this team will compete in the West.

The pick: Bet Portland to win over 42.5 games.

Sacramento Kings | Over/Under 26.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 29-53

De’Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley, Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic will make this a fun team to watch and they should be able to exceed their paltry expectations, even in a tough West. The pick: Over (29-53)

The pick: Bet Sacramento to win over 26.5 games.

San Antonio Spurs | Over/Under 44.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 45-37

Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker are all gone and Gregg Popovich will have to rely on DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge to do some real heavy lifting. Still, we aren’t betting against Pop.

The pick: Bet San Antonio to win over 44.5 games.

Toronto Raptors | Over/Under 54.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 49-33

They swapped DeMar DeRozan for Kawhi Leonard, but they have a new head coach and should regress some after 59 wins a year ago. If Leonard has trouble acclimating or staying healthy, it could be tough sledding north of the border.

The pick: Bet Toronto to win under 54.5 games.

Utah Jazz | Over/Under 48.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 50-32

Everything is in place for the Jazz to compete for a top seed in the West. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert make for a stellar 1-2 punch, and they have some of the best depth in the league.

The pick: Bet Utah to win over 48.5 games.

Washington Wizards | Over/Under 44.5 Wins

Predicted Record: 41-41

We’re not exactly sure how all these pieces fit together. They’ll continue to hang around in the 40-ish win territory, but this season might be on the lower side of that spectrum.

The pick: Bet Washington to win under 44.5 games.
