Next Celtic Manager Odds: Who Will Replace Brendan Rodgers?
Brendan Rodgers is under pressure as Celtic manager and the best betting sites reckon there could be a change in the Parkhead dugout this summer.
The Hoops conceded a last-gasp equaliser in the Old Firm game at the weekend, despite having been 2-0 up at Ibrox.
Celtic remain top of the Premiership for now, but Rangers are only a point behind their arch-rivals, on whom they have a game in hand.
Celtic also disappointed in Europe this season, exiting in the group stage of the Champions League, while they suffered a shock second-round elimination from the Scottish League Cup.
Rodgers could be vulnerable if Celtic end the campaign empty-handed and football betting sites have already compiled a list of the contenders to replace him should the club switch things up.
Check out the latest betting odds below, followed by our analysis of the situation.
Knutsen And Keane Leading Contenders
Kjetil Knutsen is the favourite to take over at Celtic Park with odds of 5/4 available.
The Bodo-Glimt head coach has done a wonderful job with the Norwegian outfit, guiding them to three league titles and into the group stage of the Europa League.
Knutsen has been at Bodo-Glimt since 2018 and could be ready for a change this summer.
He is known to be an expert man-manager and likes his teams to go on the attack.
Roy Keane is the second-favourite at 7/4. The former Celtic midfielder has made no secret of his desire to return to management, but the fact he has been out of work since 2011 will make the Parkhead hierarchy wary.
Moyes And Larsson Could Be In Mix
David Moyes has done an excellent job in his second spell at West Ham United but his tenure there could come to an end this summer.
There is a feeling that Moyes has taken the Hammers as far as he can ahead of his contract expiring on June 30.
The 60-year-old Glaswegian has never managed in Scotland and he may feel the time has come to return north of the border. Moyes is listed at 5/2.
Henrik Larsson, priced at 3/1 by betting apps, would be a popular pick among Celtic fans.
The former Hoops striker is a bona fide club legend, but he has not managed anyone since 2019.
Celtic May Consider Clarke And Cooper
Steve Clarke will lead Scotland at this summer’s European Championship.
He has done some fine work with the national team so far and, if things go well in Germany, he will fancy his chances of leading Scotland into the 2026 World Cup. Celtic could consider making an approach, though.
Clarke is available at 9/2 as things stand, but he will not want to commit to anyone before the Euros.
Steve Cooper would be an interesting choice at 5/1.
He did brilliantly with Nottingham Forest despite his sacking in December, while his ability to develop young players would no doubt appeal to the Celtic board.
Maresca And Marsch Among The Dark Horses
Rodgers swapped Celtic for Leicester City in 2019, then rejoined the former after leaving the latter last year.
Enzo Maresca is currently in the dugout at the King Power Stadium and for now he is fully focused on taking Leicester back into the Premier League.
If he succeeds in that mission, Maresca will be with the Foxes next season, but if he fails, some may like the look of 11/2 on Pep Guardiola’s former assistant joining Celtic.
Jesse Marsch has been out of work for more than a year now following his sacking at Leeds United in February 2023.
The American has been linked with Celtic before and he is a 6/1 shot in this market according to new betting sites.
Outsiders Include Lampard And Hasenhuttl
There are numerous outsiders for the Celtic job, including Stephen Robinson (8/1), Ralph Hasenhuttl (10/1), Frank Lampard (12/1), Neil Lennon (16/1) and Scott Brown (20/1).
It is hard to see Lennon returning for a third spell as the club’s manager, while former Celtic captain Brown is probably not ready.
Hasenhuttl only joined Wolfsburg a few weeks ago, but Lampard would surely put his name forward if given the chance.
The question surrounding the former Chelsea boss is whether Celtic would consider him.
As for Robinson, he is enjoying a solid season at St Mirren but is not as big a name as many of the other contenders.
