Adam Caplan's NFL Daily Fantasy Top Plays for Week 13

Well, it’s finally here.

We’re in the final week of fantasy football regular season in season-long leagues. And with the playoffs upon us, you really need to hone in on starting the right players.

For those of you who need to win this week or are in DFS, we’ll be focusing very hard on very strong matchups with very little downside (meaning less risk).

With that in mind, check out ourlist of the best daily fantasy sites and lets get it done!

Week 13 Quarterback Best Bet

Jameis Winston = $7,500 at FanDuel

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

For those of you who didn’t have any faith in my recommendation to start Winston last week against the suspect 49ers defense, I’m not going to back off.

Winston got the job done (312 yards passing, 2 TDs) and he’ll be facing a struggling Panthers defense this week. The regression of the talented Carolina D in recent weeks is puzzling considering they haven’t had any injury issues to speak of.

Over their last 4 games, the Panthers have given up a whopping 12 TD passes (2nd worst) and about 282 yards per game. And because this game figures to be high-scoring, Winston will be asked to throw more than usual, so look for good fantasy numbers from the fourth-year signal caller on Sunday.

Week 13 Running Back Best Bet

Lamar Miller = $6,300 at FanDuel

Matchup: Houston Texans vs. Cleveland Browns

Just when you thought Miller was slowing down mid-season, the seventh-year pro has put up 248 yards and a TD on the ground over his last 2 games. Miller, very quietly, is averaging a very solid 4.9 yards per carry while averaging nearly 16 carries per game.

This week, they’ll be facing a Browns defense which has given up over 5.5 yards per carry over its last four games. And they’ve given up 5 total TDs (4 rushing, 1 receiving) and nearly 11.5 yards per catch (fifth worst).

Texans head coach Bill O’Brien seems very committed to giving Miller a lot of work each week and that shouldn’t change against a very beatable Browns defense, so start Miller as your No. 2 RB with confidence.

Week 13 Wide Receiver Best Bets

Kenny Golladay = $7,300 at FanDuel

Matchup: Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams

The second-year wide receiver, in a way, is the last key man standing at the position for the Lions. Veteran WR Golden Tate was traded to the Eagles last month and fellow veteran Marvin Jones was put on IR earlier this week.

Golladay, who has put up at least 14 fantasy points in each of his last three games in Fan Duel scoring, will be facing a Rams secondary that is ranked dead last vs. opposing WRs in its last 4 games.

Over that time span, the Rams gave up about 16 yards per catch and a league-high 8 TD passes. While the Rams may be getting veteran CB Aqib Talib this game, he has been out for over two months.

Overall, this matchup is too hard to pass up, with Golladay as your No. 2 WR.

Josh Reynolds = $5,800 at FanDuel

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions

I said prior to the game before their bye on my SiriusXM Fantasy Football show that Reynolds will have a bigger role in the Rams passing game than most think.

And what we learned in that game is not only does he have a role in their red-zone offense, but he has a role as a downfield passing option.

Against the Chiefs, Reynolds had 6 receptions, 80 yards and a TD on 8 pass targets. And he barely missed for a second score when he failed to get both feet in bounds.

Reynolds, who has 4 TD receptions on his 24 catches in his two seasons, will be facing a Lions secondary which has given up 15 yards per catch (sixth-worst) and 6 TD passes over their last 4 games.

So, taking in all of the information I’ve outlined here, Reynolds is looking like a really nice third fantasy WR this week against a below-average Lions secondary.

Week 13 Tight End Best Bet

Eric Ebron = $5,600 at FanDuel

Matchup: Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars

Ebron continues to amaze fantasy owners with 11 TDs on just 44 receptions. What’s even more incredible is that the fifth-year pass catcher was not drafted in many season-long leagues.

Ebron, a former first-round pick for the Lions, certainly had some concerns in his career for underachieving and with injuries, but he has proven with the Colts that he has been able to play through various nagging injury issues.

This week, the tight end will be facing a Jaguars defense that he happened to score 3 total TDs (2 receiving, 1 rushing) against just three weeks ago. And the Jaguars defense has given up 6 TD receptions over their last 4 games.

And considering that TE Jack Doyle was put on IR this week, Ebron’s role, which was reduced after Doyle returned from injury in Week 8, will once again increase.

The reason why Ebron has such a low salary has to be due to the fact that he’s nursing a back injury. So as long as he’s playing, he’s certainly worth starting. If he’s unable to play, take a look at reasonably priced tight ends such as Kyle Rudolph or Chris Herndon.

Week 13 Flex Best Bet

Tarik Cohen = $6,100 at FanDuel

Matchup: Chicago Bears at New York Giants

The second-year back seems to get it done in the end even when he doesn’t get as many touches as fantasy owners would like. Cohen, who is averaging just over 10 touches per game, has scored in 5 out of his last 7 games.

This week, the Bears will be facing a Giants defense that is giving up over 5 yards per carry over its last four games. And the Giants also gave up 6 total TDs (4 rushing, 2 receiving) over that time frame.

The Bears should have little problem building a lead against the lowly Giants, which means Cohen should have no trouble getting 10-14 touches in this game.

He’s looking like a real solid flex options for fantasy owners this week.
