Baltimore Ravens at New Orleans Saints

Today, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN

Line: Ravens –1 | Total: 46.5 points

I am betting on the Saints +1 points as offered at PointsBet.

Over the first eight games, the Saints have struggled with consistency under first-year coach Dennis Allen. Yet, at 3-5, they have a great opportunity to win the NFC South since they have the easiest remaining schedule of any team in the NFL. A win tonight would really enhance their playoff chances.

The Ravens are 5-3 but have had their last five games decided by five or fewer points. They are 3-2 and 1-3-1 against the spread in these games and before this had lost seven consecutive games decided by five or fewer points. So, despite having a great quarterback to lead the offense, the Ravens are a team that is just not as good as their record indicates right now.

The Ravens have struggled in the red zone, ranking 15 and converting 56% of these opportunities into touchdowns.

The Saints rank ninth allowing a touchdown to be scored in the red zone 50% of the time and third-best allowing only 10 red zone touchdowns.

Situational Trends and Angles

  • The Saints are 19-9 ATS facing a below-average defense that allows 260 or more passing yards per game after the eighth game in each of the past eight games.
  • The Saints are 12-5 ATS when facing defenses allowing a completion percentage of 60% or higher in the second half of each of the past three seasons.
  • Ravens coach John Harbaugh is just 23-37 ATS in weeks 5 through 9 of the regular season.

Remember, sports betting is a marathon, not a get-rich scheme for one weekend. There will be losing weeks here on these pages and although I have had nine profitable seasons in the past 10, there is no guarantee I will hit 65% ATS again this season.
