Washington Commanders vs. New York Jets - (O/U 34.5, Commanders, -3)

The Washington Commanders and New York Jets play some matinee football on Saturday with a 12:00pm ET start.

While Aaron Rodgers is not playing, do not expect Jayden Daniels to play overly long.

Daniels will get enough time to develop an idea of what it is like to play against an NFL-caliber defense.

The Jets’ defense ranked 12th last year in points per game allowed (20.9) and their numbers are mostly top caliber across the board.

Washington's defense was among the league’s worst last year, yielding 30.5 points per contest, but preseason is often different and opening games like this tend to be more of a process of evaluating schemes and designs.

Defenses tend to rule the proceedings when two teams like Washington and New York meet.

The Under is 34.5 points, which is pretty much in line with projections and both teams have issues scoring with MetLife Stadium not seeing much offense for a good while now.

Is taking the Under on Saturday afternoon with NFL betting apps a wise idea here?

That answer would be yes and a potential Jets comeback in the second half, too.

The Panel Pick 1: Washington & New York Under 34.5 Points - DraftKings -110

Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns - (O/U 39.5, Browns, -3.5)

Okay, two fun teams get together this Saturday afternoon on NFL+ for a game that starts at 4:25pm ET as the Green Bay Packers and the Cleveland Browns open their 2024 preseason.

Both teams have been particularly good in the preseason of late, winning nine of their last 10 games combined.

Green Bay is 5-0 against the spread and Matt LaFleur expects the Packers to play their first unit early, while Cleveland plan to rest most of their top players in this contest.

Cleveland is favored by more than a field goal on Saturday afternoon and that is a bit of a surprise.

The Brown's depth is not quite as proven as Green Bay’s here. Furthermore, do not expect Nick Chubb back as the running back is not ready just yet.

Our pick with Super Bowl betting sites is for Green Bay to start out fast and hold off Cleveland in the second half.

New Orleans Saints vs. Arizona Cardinals (O/U 37, Cardinals -1)

The best news for this Saturday night game is that the roof will be closed.

With temperatures expected to be close to 110 degrees, this game starts just after 8:00 p.m. ET on NFL+.

The Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints both struggled to score last season.

For the Saints, it cost them the NFC South. For Arizona, they were one of the worst teams in the NFL with a 4-13 record.

That Over is worth a look on Saturday night from Glendale.

Both teams will try to impress with their offenses and the depth on defense is not particularly exciting.

The Panel Pick 3:  New Orleans & Arizona Over 37 Points - -110 With FanDuel

Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams (O/U 35, Cowboys -4)

The best thing about the preseason is they do play some games on Sunday. That is right. Dallas and Los Angeles open up their 2024 games that do not count at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.

Naturally, this game is televised on NFL Network. The Dallas Cowboys like to get off to good starts, while the Los Angeles Rams tend to struggle out of the gate.

Worse still, on paper, the defense that yielded the second-most yards passing does not look much better.

That full-game spread is attractive, even at four points. However, if Dallas comes out of the first quarter leading, then that is a win.

The Panel Pick 4: Dallas Cowboys -0.5 Points First Quarter - DraftKings -120
