MLS Picks: Betting Advice and Analysis for Week 16
Another set of midweek MLS games is upon us.
So to get you ready for your MLS betting, here are our picks for Wednesday's games.
New England Revolution (+290) at Atlanta United (-125)
Atlanta United is within two points of the New England Revolution after the Revs failed to win again last weekend.
New England tied 3-3 with Chicago Fire last time out and it has let in eight goals in three games after losses to Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami.
Oddly enough, Atlanta also tied 3-3 with the Fire two weeks back, but it has beaten Colorado Rapids 4-0 and tied with Orlando City during New England’s three-game winless run.
Atlanta to win, over 2.5 goals and Thiago Almada is +368 with FanDuel Sportsook.
Montreal (+370) at D.C. United (-145)
Montreal and D.C. United are right by one another in the standings after Montreal beat Miami 1-0.
D.C. lost to Toronto at the same time, but it has still only lost two games at home this season. What's more, Wayne Rooney's team has already won at Montreal this season after Lewis O'Brien scored in a 1-0 victory.
Montreal has also scored just 13 goals and let in 22 to put them on the worst goals difference (-9) in the Eastern Conference.
D.C. United to win and Christian Benteke to score anytime is +200 with Unibet Sportsbook.
Colorado Rapids (+370) at Columbus Crew (-165)
Only Atlanta and St. Louis City have scored more goals than the Columbus Crew this season, with the Crew netting 26 times after their 3-1 loss to Nashville.
Columbus has scored 16 goals in its past six games at home and beat LA Galaxy in the last home match.
Colorado has won just two games in 2023 and scored only 12 times - only the Galaxy and New York Red Bulls have scored fewer.
Columbus to win, both teams not to score and under 3.5 goals is +231 with DraftKings Sportsbook.
New York Red Bulls (+160) at Inter Miami (+170)
The best sports betting sites have this game as the toughest one to call for the midweek games.
Miami is one point behind the Red Bulls but sits in last place in the Eastern Conference. However, it has won five games compared to New York's three, as Miami has not tied a game from its 14 matches.
The Red Bulls have also been involved in the fewest number of goals this season, with 10 scored and 13 allowed.
A 0-0 or 1-1 draw is +260 with FanDuel Sportsook.
Charlotte (+410) at Philadelphia Union (-175)
Philadelphia is in fourth in the Eastern Conference after a fantastic 3-1 win at New York City. It now means it is on an unbeaten run of seven games in MLS, and after also beating New England 3-0 two weeks ago, it is arguably the best team in MLS right now.
Charlotte is still in the playoffs, however, but it has given up 25 goals in 15 games.
Philadelphia to win, Daniel Gazdag to score first and over 2.5 goals is +999 with Unibet Sportsbook.
Chicago Fire (+220) at Toronto (+105)
Toronto's win against D.C. has moved it out of last place in the Eastern Conference, but it has still won just three games in 2023.
Chicago is level on points with Toronto and only sits ahead of it in the Eastern Conference because it has scored 21 goals compared to Toronto's 15.
It looks like a tie is in order here.
A 1-1 tie is +600 with Caesars Sportsbook.
Cincinnati (+240) at New York City (+105)
It’s the biggest match of the week when Cincinnati heads to Yankee Stadium.
New York lost at home just last weekend to Philadelphia and Cincinnati is still top of the table after its 10th win of the season when it won at Colorado 1-0.
It will be a tough game for Cincinnati, but after losing only once in 2023 and beating New York in the U.S. Open Cup three weeks ago, we have to pick it to win again.
Cincinnati to win 2-1 is +1100 with BetMGM Sportsbook.
Minnesota United (+220) at Austin (+105)
It's been a strange season for Austin so far, with just 14 goals scored, four wins and six defeats. It has, however, managed to beat the Western Conference leaders, Seattle Sounders, in Seattle.
Minnesota has won five games and lost five but has scored just 13 times. Ultimately, with only 27 goals scored in the 28 games involving these two, we expect a low-scoring game.
Under 2.5 is +100 with BetMGM Sportsbook.
Dallas (+230) at Kansas City (+105)
After failing to win a game in the first 10 matches, Sporting Kansas City has now won three of the past five games, all of which have been incredibly impressive.
It has won at Seattle and beat both Minnesota and Portland Timbers at home by scoring a combined seven goals.
Dallas remains fourth in the Western Conference after a five-game unbeaten run in MLS. On the other hand, it has tied three of those games.
Both are in good form and Kansas is at home, so we expect a tie here.
A 1-1 tie is +550 with Caesars Sportsbook.

LA Galaxy (+220) at Real Salt Lake (+100)
There have been 47 goals allowed in the 28 games involving Real Salt Lake and LA Galaxy and only 24 scored.
It means two of the worst defensive and offensive sides go head-to-head here, so we expect under 2.5 goals.
Under 2.5 goals is +122 with DraftKings Sportsbook.
San Jose Earthquakes (+350) at Seattle Sounders (-150)
Seattle is sitting top of the Western Conference for another week with eight wins, 13 goals conceded and 21 scored after a 1-0 win against the Red Bulls.
It should win comfortably against San Jose Earthquakes as the latter has not won a game away from home in the 2023 season.
Seattle Sounders to win 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 is +350 with FanDuel Sportsook.
Houston Dynamo (+340) at Vancouver Whitecaps (-145)
The Houston Dynamo has also failed to win a game away from home this year and is playing a Vancouver team that has scored six more goals.
Houston has still only conceded 12 goals, so it will likely be a low-scoring win for Vancouver.
Vancouver to win and under 2.5 goals is +310 with Unibet Sportsbook.
