MLS Tips & Odds: The Panel's Picks And Best Bets For Wednesday, July 17

MLS Soccer is starting to get some players back from Euro 2024 and Copa America this Wednesday. The best part is that there are two big slates before the MLS goes on its Olympic break.

Once again, US betting sites are all in for the chaos and mayhem. If local options are not available, streaming options on Apple TV and Apple TV+ are recommended.

Do watch for the weather. Some games could again see some inclement conditions. A significant cold front is headed for the east coast.

Our focus spotlights three betting wagers. Can we strike on two of three or even all three? Is there some late contest that delivers a surprise? The MLS All-Star Game is only one week away, ladies and gentlemen.

The Panel have checked out the stats, guides and key players ahead of Wednesday night's MLS schedule, and picked out three betting predictions.

LA Galaxy Vs Colorado Rapids (O/U 3.5, Galaxy -105)

The LA Galaxy go up against a Colorado Rapids team that keeps getting positive results. Even a home draw is not cause for too much alarm.

However, there is an inevitable regression with a team like the Rapids who do not play so well on the road. It makes the Galaxy a more attractive pick on Wednesday night.

That is because the Galaxy may be missing Dejan Joveljic again. But, Los Angeles like to score two or more goals at home. Even without the talented Croatian, there are plenty of dangerous weapons to scare Colorado.

The home pitch is a huge boost to LA who desperately want to bounce back from a surprising loss to Dallas. Now, that is one that left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Galaxy.

There are a couple of ways to bet this. While the Under is interesting here, keep an eye on the number and see if it moves.

Sportsbooks offer a moneyline pick in the -105 to -120 range for Los Angeles. The Under of 3.5 tumbles in at -125. Can we rely on both this Wednesday night? Colorado have conceded two goals or more in four of their past five road contests.

Take the Galaxy and maybe a Cole Bassett anytime goal, too.

The Panel Pick 1: LA Galaxy On The Moneyline - -110 With BetMGM

Vancouver Whitecaps Vs Sporting KC (O/U 2.5, Vancouver -145)

MLS soccer loves even more of those late-night games. This is no exception, as the Vancouver Whitecaps grapple with the Sporting KC from Vancouver on Wednesday night. The game starts a little after 10:30 pm ET.

With more options at our disposal, note that Vancouver has been rolling along lately, going 4-0-1 in their last five when it comes to all competitions.

The Moneyline worries us some as it keeps moving towards -150. However, there are a few smaller wage betting options to consider. They may be a bit more risky.

Furthermore, Vancouver just potted four goals against St. Louis last week. They could score several goals again which puts us right at the Team Over of 2.5 goals at a whopping +205 with football betting sites.

Three goals would not be a surprise here. Vancouver should win via the Spread. Check out the three-way at -1 goal on BetMGM.

Our pick here is to play that Team Over and maybe look at a guy like Ryan Gauld to score on Wednesday night. He has a goal and six assists over his past six despite shooting two or three times a night.

The Panel Pick 2: Vancouver Whitecaps Over 2.5 Goals - +205 With DraftKings

LAFC Vs Real Salt Lake (O/U 3.5, LAFC -215)

The LAFC get an easier target on the schedule as they entertain Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night. Now, this game will not start until 10:45 pm ET.

However, do not fall asleep on this one. This could be a 3-1 kind of game for the home squad.

Anyway, we attempt to avoid the weather that may plague the east coast on Wednesday evening. LAFC are one of the best teams at home for a reason. Their ability to score 3+ goals is well documented. Expect them to bounce back against a Real Salt Lake team missing their captain and top-scoring target.

Both teams can score goals, and the Both Teams To Score keeps moving outward. It was -160 at press time but could get to -165, maybe even -175, with some betting apps.

Anyhow, LAFC to lead at half-time and full-time is now +120 via BetMGM. That may be an option as they figure to score early and late.

A bounceback win is expected, along with four or more goals on Wednesday night.
