MLS Tips & Odds: The Panel's Picks And Best Bets For Saturday, July 13
Our MLS Weekend Picks
MLS soccer is all ready for Saturday night, a major table-setter for what is to come on Sunday in the soccer world.
Thankfully, there is good news in the sense that 14 games are on the schedule. The Panel took note of several late-night contests, including games in Portland, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
All the sports betting sites are ready for action. If local options are not available, streaming options on Apple TV and Apple TV+ are recommended.
Keep an eye on the weather, as some games could be impacted. Thankfully, it appears major rain impacts may be avoided.
Our focus spotlights three games. Can we find a diamond or two in the rough? Is there a late game that caught our eye? The MLS has three large nights of action before their All-Star Game on July 24.
Our team at The Panel have checked out the stats, guides, and key players ahead of Saturday night’s MLS schedule to believe in the following three betting predictions.
Colorado Rapids vs. NY Red Bulls (O/U 2.5, Rapids +110)
The New York Red Bulls have gone into a bit of a funk. Back-to-back draws, including a scoreless stalemate with Philadelpia was an amazing hit for bettors who stuck with it.
For some reason, the Red Bulls just could not find the back of the net. Going out to Colorado could be a difficult task.
That is because the Rapids are an excellent 7-2-2 at home. They have scored 44 goals this season, which means they average just under two goals a contest. Three of Colorado last four wins have been by three-goal margins.
The essential thing is that the Rapids keep beating the -0.5 spread on football betting sites. Their last draw at home was a wild 3-3 tie against Minnesota.
Part of that big home-pitch advantage is the altitude. Playing a mile up definitely helps the Rapids a lot. It is a big week for Colorado as they head to LA next Wednesday in a huge Western Conference clash with the Galaxy.
Betting sites offer a moneyline pick at around +110 for Colorado. The 'over' of 2.5 rolls in at -140. Can we count on both to work on Saturday?
New York’s offense is not the most timely, and the 'over' of 1.5 goals for the Rapids stands at -110. The moneyline for the Rapids is our pick.

LAFC vs Columbus Crew (O/U 3.5, LAFC -120)
MLS soccer loves late-night action. This game is no exception, as the LAFC takes on the Columbus Crew in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The game starts just after 10:30pm ET.
With several options at our disposal, LAFC’s outright moneyline is -120 on betting apps.
One of the wildcards with Columbus is their ability to grind out games. The Crew is a solid 5-2-3 away from home, with eight results out of 10 games.
However, LAFC has not lost outright all season in Los Angeles. They roll in with a record of 9-0-2.
Furthermore, LAFC leads the West and enjoys a goal differential of +19. A big part of that comes from their home prowess (they are only .500 on the road at 4-4-2).
LAFC has scored 10 times in their past three home MLS games, and they beat LA Galaxy 2-1 in El Traffico.
Our pick here is to play the moneyline first at -120 and then work a safe wager in with LAFC leading after the 75th minute at Evens.

New England Revolution vs Orlando City (O/U 2.5, NE +135)
The New England Revolution do not score many goals, whether on the road or at home. Orlando City is not much better on the road. The Revolution is averaging a goal a game on the season, while Orlando City scores fewer than 1.5 goals a contest overall.
The weather reports suggest that some rain may still be in the Foxboro area on Saturday evening.
It is not going to be the most pleasant of conditions, as rains are expected to blanket the region. That will slow the pitch down further, making it more challenging to score.
Both teams give up a decent amount of goals, especially the Revolution (38). However, taking a shot here at the 'under' is not a bad idea, given Orlando has scored 11 goals in their past three contests.
They may be due for a downturn. Again, there is also a chance the weather could clear out but still, the pitch will likely be wet.
A close and low-scoring game on Saturday night seems likely, as the two teams will be fearful of conceding goals.
