MLS Tips & Odds: The Panel's Picks And Best Bets For Saturday, June 29

Our MLS Weekend Picks

There are 14 games in total to look forward to in the MLS on Saturday night and with some rosters impacted by Euro 2024 and the Copa America, there may be a few unexpected results.

We're concentrating on three-night games this week with the likes of the New York Red Bulls and LAFC looking to continue their good form of late.

The Panel has looked at all the stats, data and key players ahead of this weekend's Major League Soccer schedule to bring you these three predictions.

NY Red Bulls Vs DC United (O/U 2.5, Red Bulls -220)

The New York Red Bulls' record currently stands at 9-4-7 for the 2024 MLS season and they come into this off a resounding 3-0 victory over Toronto last Saturday.

Playing rested has served the Red Bulls well and they beat DC United as recently as May 15, so there's every chance of a repeat here.

New York average almost 1.8 goals per contest but have the ability to score three or four times against this DC side.

One of the few potential foils in all of this could be the weather as Saturday night may see some heavy showers and storms.

United have played poorly throughout most of the campaign and boast just four wins in 20 matches with nine losses and seven draws - they also have a goal differential of just -11 compared to the Red Bulls’ +9.

The best betting sites offer a Moneyline pick at around -225 while the Over of 2.5 stands at -170

Can the Red Bulls win this game by more than a goal? A +125 number is risky for the Red Bulls to win by two goals.

If the weather holds off, New York can get up and down the pitch against DC with ease, which could lead to a number of goals scored on Saturday night.

The Panel believes that the Red Bulls can get win number 10 in Harrison with relative ease.

Panel Pick 1: NY Red Bulls (-1.5 Goals) +125 with DraftKings.

San Jose Earthquakes Vs LA Galaxy (O/U 3.5, Galaxy - +130)

MLS can often feature some wild games after dark and for the East Coast viewers, this game from San Jose does not start until a little after 10:30 pm.

With a number of players featuring in the Copa America and Euro 2024, this LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes clash could be a little more even than records would suggest.

San Jose has 14 losses on the season with three wins and two draws.

Even though the Galaxy have 10 wins in 2024, this game could be a back-and-forth affair.

The last time these two teams met, they combined for seven goals in a 4-3 Galaxy triumph.

San Jose has yielded a whopping 51 goals on the season while the Galaxy are third in MLS with 38 goals.

Our pick here is to go for the Over as San Jose will be keen to put on a performance at home.

The Panel Pick 2: San Jose And LA Galaxy Over 3.5 Goals -105 with FanDuel.

LAFC Vs Colorado Rapids (O/U 3.5, LAFC -215)

LAFC have four wins and a draw in their last five games, while the Colorado Rapids have triumphed in three straight contests.

Los Angeles leads the West with a 11-4-4 record (37 points), while the Rapids come in with a solid 31 points.

These two teams combined for five goals in Colorado, but in LA the home team are expected to score early, as they have against Colorado several times recently and LAFC scoring in the first 30 minutes is currently at +150 with BetMGM Sportsbook.

Both teams have goals in them and LA to lead wire-to-wire is nowhere near as appealing in terms of value while exact scores can always be risky, too.

Typically, LAFC scores a lot and concedes less, as their +15 margin indicates.

The Over opened at 3.5, but The Panel likes the idea of LAFC scoring an early goal and, from there, the home team may just run and hide on Saturday night.

The Panel Pick 3: Kansas City (-1.5 Runs) Over Miami -100 with BetMGM.
