Chelsea Transfer Odds: Who Will The Blues Sign In The Summer Window?
The best betting sites are expecting some movement at Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks.
It is no secret that Chelsea’s squad is bloated after an astonishing outlay of almost £600m on new signings last season.
All that expenditure brought a 12th-place finish in the Premier League, so we will surely see a more measured approach this time around.
Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to slim down the group of players he has inherited, but the Argentine will want to bring in a few new faces too.
Who will end up in the blue part of west London this summer? Let’s take a look at the odds.
Brighton’s Caicedo A Target As Midfield Exits Loom
Brighton & Hove Albion’s scouting network is the envy of the rest of the Premier League.
Chelsea have consequently appointed several former members of the Seagulls’ staff, with Paul Winstanley - Brighton’s ex-head of recruitment - now in a similar post at Stamford Bridge.
Graham Potter is no longer their manager, but Chelsea will hope that their Brighton connections help them to land Moises Caicedo, who is priced at 11/8 to end the window with the Blues.
Caicedo penned a new deal with Brighton in January, but it is rumoured that the contract contains a release clause which could make him available for transfer this summer and Chelsea are the favourites as things stand.
Serie A Strikers On The Transfer Radar Of Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku is due back at Chelsea this summer and it will be fascinating to see what Pochettino decides to do with him.
Many feel the Belgian has burnt his bridges at the Bridge, but the club are in desperate need of a centre-forward and retaining Lukaku would save them a large chunk of money.
Chelsea have also been linked with Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to be made available for transfer by Juventus this summer and they are rated as a 9/2 shot with football betting sites to nab him.
The Blues are said to be at the front of the queue for the former Fiorentina marksman.
Elsewhere, Victor Osimhen is available at 5/1 but it will be tougher to prise him away from Napoli, who are hoping to keep the bulk of their squad intact after last term’s Serie A triumph.
Blues Could Move For Experienced Wide Men
Chelsea have plenty of wide forwards on their books but the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi are likely to seek pastures new before the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.
That means we could see Chelsea add to their ranks in that area, and odds are indeed offered on two experienced attackers ending up at the club.
Sadio Mane saw his debut campaign at Bayern Munich not go to plan and he is available at a best price of 11/2 to return to the Premier League with Chelsea.
Meanwhile Neymar, who was strongly linked with the Blues last summer, is listed at 10/1.
However, the Brazil international is the subject of big-money interest from Saudi Arabia, whose clubs could blow Chelsea out of the water.
Hojlund And Kane Unlikely Options Up Top
Other options at centre-forward for Chelsea include Harry Kane and Rasmus Hojlund, although both are long shots at 16/1.
The latter should be obtainable from Atalanta, who are willing to cash in for the right price.
Manchester United are said to be leading the way but the Italian outfit would no doubt welcome interest from elsewhere too.
Rasmus Hojlund scored nine league goals last term and has been tipped to go far in the game.
Kane’s abilities are well known but Tottenham Hotspur will be loath to lose him this summer, even though his contract is due to expire in 2024. Spurs would be particularly averse to selling him to a rival in Chelsea.
Chelsea Set To Miss Out On Rice And Maddison
Twelve months ago, Chelsea were thought to be at the front of the queue to land Declan Rice, who spent time in their academy as a teenager before being let go.
There is little doubt that the West Ham United skipper will be plying his trade elsewhere next season, but odds of 33/1 illustrate that he will not be doing so at Chelsea.
Indeed, Arsenal are now expected to win the race for his signature.
As for James Maddison, he is available at 20/1 to join up with Pochettino in London.
Chelsea have not yet shown any interest in the England international, although that could change in the weeks ahead as their new manager continues to take stock of his squad.
